Greetings,

My name is Chuck Zuerner. At the May 11th Board of Directors meeting I was elected to serve
as President of the Chamber for the next year. It is my honor and privilege to accept this responsibility. I want to thank the Board for their trust and support. In becoming President I succeed the outgoing President Terry Bridges. Terry did an outstanding job in guiding the Chamber through a very tough year. Terry provided the Chamber with strong leadership and I hope to follow his example.

Also elected to the Executive Board were Rev. William Kren of the Evangelical Church, Vice President; David Paul, retired from the City of Romulus, Secretary; and Susan Wyputa, Public Service Credit Union, Treasurer. David and Susan were re-elected to their positions. Each of these individuals has demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and commitment to the mission of the Chamber. Congratulations to each of you and I look forward to working with you in the
coming year.

I would like to thank retiring Chamber Board Director MaryAnn Wells, 34th District Court, for her 6 years of service on the Board. I would also like to congratulate and welcome the newest member to the Board of Directors, Roger Kadau. Roger is Director with the Romulus Cable Department. Roger brings a vast amount of experience serving on a number of boards and affiliations. Congratulations to re-elected Directors Ron Hopson, Hopson Financial Group, Jakleen Ochalek, Wayne County Executive Office, Oscar “JR” Rhoton, Metro Reality Group, Inc. and Larry Williams, L.W.A. Properties.

The Greater Romulus Chamber of Commerce continues to operate and serve the Romulus Business Community because of the financial support received from the various fundraisers the Chamber organizes throughout the year. I want to thank our members and friends who have supported our fundraisers in 2010 at the Bowling event, Silent Auction and Wine Tasting Dinner and our most recent Casino Trip. Much appreciation goes to Keith Johnston (Bowling Event Chair), JR Rhoton (Casino Trip Chair) and the Silent Auction Committee for planning these successful events.

Our next fundraiser will be the Annual Romulus Chamber of Commerce Golf outing which will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Gateway Golf Club in Romulus. The Shotgun start will be at 11:00 a.m. Director Dave Goodwin heads up this event
again, this year and is currently looking for hole sponsors, banquet sponsor, scoreboard sponsor, cart sponsors and donations for door prizes to be given away at the banquet. Please save the date and help us make this Golf Outing the most successful one in the history of the Romulus Chamber.
