Our next “After

at the new Embassy Suites Hotel (formerly Hilton Suites). This will
be a joint expo along with the Belleville Chamber, a great
opportunity to meet some of their members and also to see the newly
remodeled Embassy Suites.
There is no
charge to attend this event for either members or non-members, and
is open to the general public.
To reserve your
exhibitor table ($25 for members, $35 for non-members); call the
Chamber office at (734) 893-0694.
ROMULUS ATHLETIC
CENTER
On April 25th
the Romulus Athletic Center had a ribbon cutting ceremony attended
by about 150 Chamber members, City officials and council, the TIFA
Board, honored guests and dignitaries with a luncheon that followed.
Also attending were officials from Rink Management.
General Manager
Adam Rachuy has told me that membership is now approaching the 800
mark.
THE PAST YEAR
This will be my
last Ponderings column, as a new President will be elected on May 13th
at our monthly Board meeting. Next month the new President will be
writing this column.
I want to thank
the Board of Directors for their faith and support this past year…..
without that it would have been a difficult job, but it’s been fun.
Their knowledge and willingness to assist in any way when asked was
very much appreciated.
My very special
thanks to Karen, who reminded, prodded, and assisted in so many
ways. The Chamber is truly blessed for the outstanding job she does
for us.
And finally, a
thanks to you, the members who
are
the Chamber. You have continued to support this Chamber in difficult
economic times both with your attendance and donations that support
our events.
I have served
two terms as President and two terms as Vice-President in the nine
years I have been a Director with the Chamber Board. I am proud to
say we have excellent people serving this board that will be moving
on to the Executive Board and our future looks bright.
It’s been an
enjoyable year due to all of you, and I look forward to working with
you for many years to come as a Chamber Director.
Thank you!
See you at our
luncheon on the 20th
with guest speaker Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano.
